Though she wasn't considered the prettiest member of the group in the movie, she without a doubt was the best singer out of the entire group. It took Effie almost ten years after she was kicked out of the group to come out on top against Curtis, but she did. The most memorable scene in the move was Effie singing, And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going. Jennifer Hudson portrayed Effie in the movie, and she portrayed her brilliantly.
